Install once, runs alongside Tally Prime, keeps your data in sync.
System requirements
- Windows version
- Windows 7 SP1, 8, 8.1, 10, or 11. 32-bit or 64-bit.
- On ARM machines
- Windows 10 on ARM or newer.
- Tally Prime
- Any recent version that exposes the local XML/HTTP gateway (the default Tally setup).
- Disk
- ~200 MB free for the installer and update cache.
- Memory
- 512 MB free RAM while syncing. Idle uses ~80 MB.
- Network
- Outbound HTTPS to
theusualaccountant.com. No inbound ports.
Common questions
- Do I need to come back here for updates?
- No. The agent auto-updates itself. Use this page only for the first install or to install on a new machine.
- Which file do I pick?
- We auto-detect from your browser. If you're unsure, pick Windows 64-bit — that covers almost every PC made since 2010.
- Will Windows warn me about an unknown publisher?
- Yes — the installer isn't code-signed yet. Click "More info → Run anyway" in the SmartScreen warning. We're adding code-signing soon.
- Will it interfere with my Tally?
- No. The agent reads from Tally's local HTTP gateway in short bursts. Tally may briefly appear frozen while it serves the data — that's normal Tally behaviour, not the agent.
- How do I uninstall?
- Settings → Apps → The Usual Accountant → Uninstall. Your config and tokens stay in
%APPDATA%\theusualaccountant-agentunless you delete that folder too.
