About me
I run RYON out of Hyderabad. The Usual Accountant is the first piece of software I have shipped. Built on weekends and late evenings. I wrote the Windows agent, the cloud, the sync, the security, the docs, and most of what you see on this site. If something feels off, tell me. I will learn and fix it.
How it started
It started as a side project I built for my own books. I was tired of exporting Tally reports every time I wanted to ask Claude a question. A few weekends later it worked well enough that it felt unfair to keep to myself. So I cleaned it up, sorted out the security, and put it online for every Indian business that runs on Tally.
Why it exists
Tally has been the operating system of Indian business for thirty years. Almost nothing in modern AI talks to it directly. The Usual Accountant fills that gap. It runs read only, stays in India, and understands Indian books.
A note on beta
The Usual Accountant is in beta. That means most of it works well today, but a few rough edges are still being smoothed out and new features are landing every week.
